The Dictionary of Home is part of an on-going series in which the artists defines different aspects. This one is particularly personal since it defines home as seen by the artist.

Philo Cohen is an artist, writer, curator, archivist and publisher based in Brooklyn, NY.

Shifting between image collection, drawing, photography, print and collage, she looks at themes of solitudes and the bodily. In her work, she often revisits concepts of home, particularly through the bond of the familial and the communal.

She is the founder and director of Speciwomen, an independent print publication, book series and online archive aiming to shift representation in the arts.
